San Francisco Housing Development Corporation

SFHDC was established in 1988 in response to the steady displacement of minorities, particularly African Americans, in San Francisco, largely due to gentrification and escalating housing costs. Since its inception, SFHDC’s mission has been to foster stability in the city’s minority communities, primarily focusing on the Southeast Neighborhoods, through the development of affordable housing and facilitation of homeownership.
